Lititz Lions Fourth of July Participant Rules

1.) All participants are required to decorate their entry in keeping with the annual patriotic theme.  Uniformed groups, police, fire and ambulance services, bands, sport teams and dance groups are exempted from additional decorating.

 

2.) Red white and blue bunting or American flags are always appropriate decorations in keeping with the theme.

 

3.) At the parade the Lititz Lions may decide that an undecorated entry may not participate.

 

4.) Any civic group, social fraternal, school or scout groups may enter.

 

5.) Commercial or business organization may enter commercial vehicles or other entries but they must be decorated in keeping with the patriotic theme.  Exception is made for historic vehicles and vehicles pulling floats or other entries.

 

6.) Horses or other animals not riding in or on a vehicle are only allowed if followed by your own clean-up person.

 

7.) Go-carts, motorcycles, or stunt vehicles may not be allowed do to safety considerations.  Historic, antique or Police motorcycles are permitted under the same guidelines for other vehicles.

 

8.) Political organizations and any politicians who do not represent constituent from our immediate local area are not allowed.

 

9.) No throwing of objects to spectators from floats or moving vehicles, handouts can be made by walkers along the parade route.

 

10.) There are some tight turns and cars may be parked on the parade route, long trucks and trailers should be aware of this before entering.

 

11.) Vehicles need to be in good operating conditions, if there is any question as to the ability of your vehicle to drive the parade route at a slow speed in hot weather we ask you to think about not participating.  Vehicles that have broken down on the parade route have caused trouble in the past.

 

12.) Entry in the parade is at your own risk, and all due care must be exercised.  Any unsafe entries will not be allowed to participate in the parade.
