Outstanding Football Player Awards
Frantz • Rider • Yohe Awards Banquet
Sponsored jointly by the Lions Clubs of Columbia, Elizabethtown and Lititz

The origin of these awards dates all the way back to before 1969 when the Lititz Lions Club and the Elizabethtown Lions Club first sought to recognize the outstanding football players from high schools in the Lancaster Lebanon League. The Lititz Club chose to honor a former Lion and Warwick High School Coach - Bernie Rider. The Elizabethtown Club named its award for a former Lion and coach at Elizabethtown High School - Bill Frantz. More recently, the Columbia Lions Club elected to recognize one of Columbia's former coaches - Jack Yohe.

Over the years there have been many changes in the schools and the way the league is organized. There have also been changes in the way the awards have been handled, but they have always been for the purpose of recognizing significant achievement on the playing field.

The tradition is continuing with the joint "Frantz-Rider-Yohe" awards. We are pleased to present the 2007 recipients:
